Shape the future of the My BMW App

Prior to releasing an update of the My BMW App, extensive testing is conducted to ensure a consistently high standard of quality and a smooth user experience. This testing process isn’t just limited to BMWs internal procedures; it actively engages real end-users through a dynamic process called “Crowdtesting”.

With this objective in mind, Testbirds, a German crowdtesting platform and official service provider for BMW, is looking for passionate BMW Drivers who are interested in joining their well-established community and becoming part of ongoing digital innovation. Participants receive early access to the newest app version and provide their opinion on it. All feedback is anonymized and forwarded directly to BMW, empowering community members to shape the app’s future, while earning a compensation for their valuable input.

Terms of participation

The only requirement to join this community is access to a BMW or MINI vehicle with Connected Drive capabilities and a smartphone. And while Testbirds welcomes every suitable BMW – the newer the vehicle and head unit, the better. No previous testing experience is required, and employees of the BMW Group are also invited to take part in these surveys.

Sign-up process

After registering at Testbirds, new participants automatically receive an invitation to an initial questionnaire in which they can provide their vehicle’s information, including model, manufacturing year and VIN. The provided VIN is then verified by a BMW employee to determine the car’s configurations, such as head unit, current software status and booked remote services. This verification process is essential for determining the eligibility for participation, however, no personal data linked to the VIN is processed.
