The club is managed by the National Committee, a group of between four and twelve volunteers. As the club is also a company the National Committee members are registered as Company Directors with Companies House which brings legal responsibilities with it. This dual role is why they are sometimes also referred to as Directors and collectively as ‘The Board’. Currently they are:
- Dave Evans – Chairman
- Nick Thomas – Vice Chair, Regions and Technical Director
- Matthew Smith – Club Secretary and Motorsport Director
- Greg Lyons – Partnership and Marketing Director
Sub-Committees are a structure allowed for by the Articles of Association. Sub-Committees do not have decision making rights and make proposals to the National Committee for adoption and provide updates as part of scheduled National Committee meetings. There are currently four ub-Committees
- Finances
- BMW UK Relations
- Clubs rules and handbook
- Straight Six
The club has a number of Liaison Officers, who act as contacts with BMW UK, BMW Germany, club umbrellas etc. This is done to have a clear contact person for the organisations, and to ensure we don’t send various potentially conflicting communications to them. Currently they are:
- Nick Thomas is the Liaison Officer to BCEF (the umbrella that BMWCCGB belongs to) and therefore also the conduit to BMW Clubs and Community Management in Munich and via them to BMW AG etc, and to other clubs in Europe.
- Dave Evans is the contact to the BMW Historics Club
