Wessex Weekend Tour 2
7 October @ 9:00 am - 8 October @ 3:00 pm
Although it may seem very premature to be announcing our second tour so early, it is necessary to secure room bookings because of the great popularity of the hotel. It was not even possible to get a block booking of rooms until October 2023. The second tour follows our very successful adventure around Weston-super-Mare in September 2022 and will be centred around the Isle of Portland and the scenic Dorset Jurassic Coast. It will take place over the weekend of 7th – 8th October 2023.
We will be staying for the night of Saturday 7th October 2023 at the Heights Hotel (https://www.heightshotel.com) which stands high up at the top of Portland and has magnificent views over Weymouth Bay to the East and Chesil Beach and the start of the Devon coastline to the West. Portland is also the location of the training centre for the British Olympic Sailing Team and they have a close association with the Heights Hotel. The full tour programme is still under development but will certainly include a drive along the Jurassic Coast with stops at Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, as well as other interesting visits.
If you are able to commit now to the tour, please reserve a room at the Heights Hotel as soon as possible. Call Reception on 01305 821361 quoting “BMW Car Club” and they will ask you to pay a deposit of £25 per person. The total cost for the overnight stay in a standard double room is £84 per person to include a Wessex Region dinner on the Saturday night and a full Dorset breakfast on Sunday morning. There is an extra charge of £35 for single room occupancy. The hotel also offers more expensive double rooms as an option: Garden View rooms at an extra £20 per room and more spacious rooms at an extra £30 per room. You can also book extra nights if you wish to extend your stay – please discuss this directly with the hotel. The hotel will keep a track of club bookings but please let Julian Pickering know via email email@example.com when you have made a booking.
