Saturday 12th August
Our National Concours will take place on Saturday 12th August 2016 at Ettingtn Chase Hotel (the same venue for the Annual Dinner) which will this year be sponsored by Meguiars.
The venue have agreed prime locations for the concours on the car parking area adjacent to the grassed areas with the splendid `mansion` as the back drop.
Members shall be able to arrive from 7.30am and for those feeling a little peckish the hotel will be available for breakfast. Once fed, for those wanting to wash their cars facilities are available nearby.
Signage will be clear on the day. Food and refreshments will be available during the day (this can be ordered at the bar) within the hotel and have no problem if you wish to bring a picnic but please be respectful and not do not take your own food into hotel.
Members are asked to pre-register when booking for Gaydon (as no guarantee cars will be accepted on the day), which helps enormously with the Administration and Planning for the concours. This is particularly important this year as we are aiming to give competitors a `time-slot` when their car will be judged – each allowed a little time in advance to do final wipe down.
The classes will be as usual ie Pride of Ownership, Master and Elite.
To entice more members to partake we have returned to holding ‘classes’ for the various decades within the Pride of Ownership thus giving more people chance of winning a prize / trophy subject to sufficient numbers within each class.
For those no au-fait with our concours the Pride of Ownership classes are for those members who like to keep their car clean and happy to show their pride and joy.
The judges shall look at the general appearance and cleanliness of the exterior, interior and under the bonnet and there shall be no deductions fr modifications or non-original parts etc.
This class should be friendly and fun and occasionally informative so please come and have a go – you may even win a prize!!
For the more hardy concours buffs then we shall again (subject to numbers) have our Master and Elite classes and here the judging is far more serious and intrusive with judges often shoving fingers where fingers should not go!!
Judging forms will be as previous years with the score cards available via club office and if you have any questions do not hesitate to email email@example.com
Registration will commence 9.00 am with judging starting from 10.00 am.
On the Sunday at Gaydon we again have a prime location for our Concours Cars and all competitors are encouraged to park within this display.
Awards will be presented during the course of the day in the main arena.
So all that’s left to say is enjoy all the preparation and we wish you good luck on the day.
